PrepsKC sat down with Paul Schroeppel, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine expert with The University of Kansas Health System, who is also Head Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the Kansas City Chiefs.  We talked about his work with professional athletes and how that work benefits the high school or middle school athletes he works with through The University of Kansas Health System's Sports Medicine and Performance Center.  The University of Kansas Health System is the official healthcare provider of the Chiefs, as well as the sports medicine and athletic training provider for 27 high schools and middle schools in the Blue Valley, De Soto, Lansing and Shawnee Mission School districts.  Dr. Schroeppel talks about common injuries he sees in youth athletes, and the need for injured high school and middle school athletes to see a sports medicine expert.
