The Lansing Lions dominated on all three phases in their 51-0 shutout victory over Harmon to improve to 3-3 on the season.

The Lions scored five minutes into the game and converted on the two-point conversion to go up 8-0.

Later in the second quarter, Harmon forced Lansing to punt, and the Lions pinned the ball on the one. Harmon quarterback Terrance Johnson would fumble the ball, but Johnson quickly jumped on and secured the ball to allow a safety instead of a Lions touchdown.

On the free kick, Malachi Tinnel would have a strong return to set the Lions up for another score to go up 37-0 with 4:37 left in the half. The Lions would score one more time in the half to go up 44-0.

Lansing would add another touchdown early in the third to go up 51-0 and the Lions put in the reserves to get some varsity reps as the Lions held on for victory.

Head coach Dylan Brown said it was great to get the future of the program in on a varsity experience.

The Lions finished with 400 yards of offense and only allowed the Hawks to amass 56.

Brown was pleased with the win.

“I thought it was pretty solid,” Brown said. “We still have some kickoff stuff to figure out a little bit... But overall, I cannot be more proud. We threw a shutout, scored pretty much every drive except for one which led to the great punt and led to a safety. And that led to the following touchdown so that ended up working out really well for us. But we had a whole lot of kids contribute, which was awesome too.”

Brown was also happy to see the team play cleaner and better football than the start of the year
