Tonganoxie 45, Piper 7
A 28-point second quarter was the difference for Tonganoxie, which improved to 8-0.

Connor Searcy’s 9-yard touchdown run, followed by a 23-yard touchdown pass from Mason Beach to Zac Morgan and touchdown catches by Dylan Kleidosty (on the heels of a Drake Pray interception) and Caden Searcy highlighted the onslaught as the Chieftains took a 35-0 halftime lead. Dalton Bock’s touchdown run in the third quarter — his second of the game — made it 42-0.

Piper (3-5) scored its lone touchdown in the third quarter on a 30-yard run by Tyler Ash.

Tonganoxie faces 7-1 Basehor-Linwood in next week’s regular-season finale to determine the Kaw Valley League champion.

Basehor-Linwood 34, Atchison 0
Nolan Ford rushed for 303 yards on 24 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the 7-1 Bobcats, setting up next week’s showdown at undefeated Tonganoxie.

Basehor-Linwood led 13-0 at halftime on J.C. Watson’s touchdown runs of 6 and 7 yards. Matt McKnight’s 3-yard touchdown run and a successful two-point conversion made it 21-0 in the third quarter before Ford’s 77-yard third-quarter touchdown run and his 12-yard fourth-quarter score.

Watson finished with 56 yards on 12 carries as the Bobcats amassed 444 yards on the ground and 463 total yards.

Taye Helms led Atchison (4-4) with 88 yards on 13 carries.

Olathe East 42, Leavenworth 7
The Hawks finished the regular season on a high note by improving to 4-4. They extended their 14-0 halftime lead to 35-0 with three third-quarter touchdowns, the first two by Trevon Kearney and the third on Connor McCartney’s 90-yard pick-six.

Hezekiah Newman’s 75-yard run set up Olathe East’s last touchdown of the night by Daniel Malekani.

Leavenworth (3-5) scored its lone touchdown with 4:04 left in the fourth quarter on a 9-yard pass.

The Hawks took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Thomas to Daniel Reed. In the second quarter, Thomas hit TyJuan Lewis on fourth down for Olathe East’s second touchdown.

Olathe East is the No. 5 seed in the East and will play host to No. 12 Wyandotte in the first round of the Kansas 6A state playoffs next Friday.

Olathe Northwest 44, Shawnee Mission South 21
The Ravens improved to 3-5 after bolting out to a 27-7 halftime lead.

Brayden Koch scored in the first quarter on a 1-yard plunge, followed by Jon Bowman’s 1-yard run early in the second quarter. After Trevor Adam recovered a fumble, Koch hit Val Shirinian with a touchdown pass to put Olathe Northwest up 20-0.

Shawnee Mission South (3-5) answered with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Hunter Carpenter. Bowman scored his second touchdown on a 10-yard run with 8:27 left before halftime.

Shirinian kicked a 28-yard field goal in the third quarter, and Andrew Dumas scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns for the Ravens. Carpenter scored his second touchdown of the game in the final period.

The same two teams will square off next Friday in the Kansas 6A state playoffs. SM South is the No. 8 seed in the East while Olathe Northwest is No. 9.
