One of the first battles in the race for the Suburban Small Seven title takes place tonight at Staley. The Falcons host Liberty North and the game will be broadcast live as the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel’s game of the week.

The Falcons enter on a two-game winning streak after suffering a season-opening loss to Blue Springs. Staley has righted the ship with a tough 18-17 win over Raymore-Peculiar in Week No. 2 and a dominant 37-8 victory over William Chrisman last week.

Liberty North opened the season with back to back shutouts of Raytown and Blue Springs South. The Eagles outscored their first two opponents 65-0 before falling to Kearney 9-3 last week. North’s defense has been stout but the offense struggled against a tough Kearney defense last week. The Eagles were without standout tailback Richard Richards and if he isn’t able to go tonight it puts more pressure on quarterback Bryan Sharp and the passing game.

The Falcons answer with a multi-faceted offense that features two quarterbacks and two outstanding running backs. Staley could pull out all of the stops to get past the tough North defense.

The game will be live on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel with Kevin Wike and Jay Binkley on the Call. To watch the game consult the following channels:
