Liberty North 38, Lee’s Summit West 14
Micah Job Barnett scored two touchdowns and Cayden Arzola ran for 100 yards and a TD to lead the host Eagles, who entered the week alone atop the Class 6 Missouri Media Rankings

Jaden Hines’ opening drive, 64-yard touchdown run gave Lee’s Summit West (4-4, 3-3 Suburban Gold) early hope, but that was all but dashed by halftime as Barnett and Arzola combined to give the Eagles (6-1, 6-0) a 21-7 lead.

Hines scored twice and accounted for 176 total yards as he led Titans passers, rushers, caught a pass and returned a kickoff.

But it wasn’t enough to keep up with Liberty North’s own balanced attack, which saw four different players reach the end zone.

It was an inspired effort by Lee’s Summit North (7-1, 5-1 Suburban Gold), ranked third in Class 6, a week after their three-point loss to No. 1 Liberty North.

The Broncos defense held Park Hill (4-4, 2-4) to just 110 yards of offense and six first downs. Quarterback Kendrick Bell was responsible for 113 yards himself, passing for 91 and rushing for 22.

Quincey Baker and Isaiah Mozee each ran for Lee’s Summit West touchdowns, while Devin Blayney scored on a 75-yard punt return. Blaney led all players with 171 total yards.

Harrisonville 12, Oak Grove 8
Espen Glenn scored from two yards out early in the fourth quarter to claim the lead for the first time and vault the visiting Wildcats over Oak Grove in a defensive slugfest.

Glenn, Harrisonville’s quarterback, was also responsible for the Wildcats’ first touchdown, a 1-yard keeper with 16 seconds left in the first half that pulled Harrisonville (4-3, 2-3 Missouri River Valley Conference West) to within 8-6 heading into the locker room.

The Panthers (3-4, 2-3) went ahead 8-0 just a minute earlier on Brendan Griffin’s 1-yard run and successful conversion.

While each team gained fewer than 300 yards, Oak Grove enjoyed sizable edges in total plays and time of possession. But three turnovers ultimately limited the Panthers.
