Another success

Monday night at Rockhurst High School the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association held its annual College Night. This has long been a chance for college coaches one-stop shopping to talk to coaches and find out about the rising seniors who will take the field this fall.

It is always well attended with coaches from FCS, D-II, D-III, NAIA and junior colleges all packed into the gym at Rockhurst wanting to talk to the GKCFCA members.

More than 60 colleges from North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee attended the event. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of scholarships will be provided for student athletes from the colleges that attend every year knowing that the Kansas City area is a great place for their staffs to recruit.

GKCFCA President Tim Callaghan said the event provided area athletes even more exposure to college coaches.

“Great event great turnout so nice to see the Metro area coaches get together and make KC kids so accessible to all these college coaches.” Callaghan said.
