The carousel keeps moving

The coaching hire season is in full swing with several jobs still open while others have been filled.

This season saw several prominent programs open. Staley coach Steve Rampy stepped down and he was recently replaced by Blue Valley North coach Drew Hudgins. Just last week North Kansas City opened after Leon Douglas stepped down.

In January Lee’s Summit coach Eric Thomas returned to his alma mater to take the head coach position at Jefferson City. Todd Miller from Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. Was hired last week at Lee’s Summit.

Also, in January Smithville coach Jason Ambroson took the head coach job at William Jewell College and last week longtime assistant coach Josh Speer was elevated to the top spot for the Warriors.

In a similar move St. Joseph Central promoted assistant Sheldon Farrell after Regi Trotter stepped down and West Platte moved up assistant Taylor Gallagher to replace Jim Newstead.

On the Kansas side Greg Duggins retired from Bishop Ward and is being replaced by assistant Brandon Duff. At Piper John Black retired and his position was filled by Cole Orrick who moves up from Texas.
