Oak Park wins McCarthy/Riddell contest

The recipient of the McCarthy Auto Group and Riddell giveaway is Oak Park High School. They will be receiving ten Axiom Smart Helmets from Riddell along with a one-year subscription to InSite Analytics – an impact sensing and reporting system that collects and transmits head impact data from the field in real-time.

Oak Park head coach Kenneth Clemens was excited to be selected. “We like to think of our program as an “old school” program, but thanks to Riddell, McCarthy Auto Group and InSite Analytics we will be on the cutting edge of new technology monitoring our athlete’s impacts during the season.”

Riddell’s next-generation helmet, Axiom, includes a redesigned helmet shell with a new energy management system and reimagined frontal protection with improved sightlines. It also comes standard with InSite Smart Helmet technology. When combined with InSite Analytics, it learns and tracks player, position group and team behaviors. It records head impacts, breaks them down by location and severity, and reports them directly to your inbox with automated reports. Teams can use the data for more informed practice plans, reduced head impact exposure and improved performance.

Axiom also utilizes Riddell’s Tru-FitTM fitting system. A scanning app captures a 3D image of an athlete’s head. That image is cross referenced with football’s largest head shape database, and then a factory installed performance liner system of pads is customized with thicknesses, shapes and contours to create a personalized fit and protection system for the athlete.
