Last year it was Blue Valley West who ended Olathe North’s season, but tonight Olathe North was able to get their revenge earning a 35-14 win.

Olathe North Head Coach Chris McCartney said “I’ve been thinking about that loss for a long time”.

The Blue Valley West Jaguars would come out strong and put a drive together with runs by Tate Nagy and Jack Cook and receptions by WR Crew Myers. The Olathe North Eagles would stop the Jaguars on 3rd down and force a FG, however it was wide left and Olathe North took over.

Eagles Senior RB TJ Porter would break off a couple long runs, but it was Junior QB Jameson Sarver who would find the endzone from 12 yards out with 5:53 left in the first to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead.

Blue Valley West would be forced into a punt on the following drive. A missed blocking assignment left an Olathe North player running free, causing Punter Tate Nagy to tuck the ball and try and get a first down but he was tackled behind the line of scrimmage. Putting the Eagles in great field position.

Just a few plays later Olathe North RB TJ Porter would punch it in from 2 yards out, and with 3:13 left in the 1st Quarter the Eagles had a 14-0 lead.

Blue Valley West would turn the ball over on downs, but their defense stayed strong and forced Olathe North to a punt. BVW then drove the ball down the field with runs by Senior RB Tyler Bono and more of the Nagy to Myers connection. Looking to get on the board the Jaguars elected to go for it on 4th down, but the Eagles defense would stop them short.

Olathe North would have a bad snap 2 plays later and Blue Valley West would recover. Nagy was able to get the Jaguars on the board when he found Myers for a 23-yard touchdown and cut the Eagles lead to 7 points.

Senior Aiden Bruce would take the ensuing kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown, and with 7:30 left in the half, the Eagles had a 21-7 lead.

The Jaguars would only have the ball for 2 plays before the Eagles caused and recovered a fumble. Running Back TJ Porter once again carried the load and got down to the 2 yard line, where he would find the endzone again from 2 yards out. Olathe North would have a 28-7 lead going into the half.

After Olathe North turned the ball over on downs, Blue Valley West was able to put a nice drive together. Nagy found some open receivers in Cade Wysong and his favorite target Myers. The Jaguars got the ball down to the 1 yard line where Nagy would get to the endzone on an option run. This made the score 28-14 in favor of Olathe North.

Heading into the 4th quarter it was much of the same for the Olathe North Eagles, a long drive ending with a TJ Porter touchdown. This time it was QB Jamo Sarver finding Porter for a 22 yard TD pass, pushing their lead to 35-15.

BVW would get two more chances to get on the board but the Olathe North Defense held strong by forcing a turnover on downs and then an interception by Senior defensive back MJ Mack sealed the deal. Olathe North was able to run out the clock from there, securing a 35-14 victory.

Olathe North will host Blue Valley next week as the Tigers were able to defeat Olathe East 17-0.
