Ty Williams, running back, Grain Valley – The senior 224 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries helping the Eagles earn a 46-42 come from behind win over Fort Osage.

Call of the night
It was the game everyone circled heading into week one. Lee’s Summit North hosted Liberty North in a battle of Missouri Class 6 powers. The Broncos led throughout but the Eagles stayed on their heels all night. In the third quarter Lee’s Summit North scored to make 21-10 but Liberty North’s Jacorey Love answered in a big way.

Team of the night
Lee’s Summit North – The Broncos ended a 3-game losing streak to Liberty North holding off the Eagles for a 27-20 win. Lee’s Summit North avenged their only regular season loss the last two seasons.

Big Winner (s)
Grandview – The Bulldogs blanked William Chrisman 35-0 to open their season. With 14 starters back, eight of those on offense including its entire offensive line, Grandview could be a team on the rise in Missouri Class 4 and the Suburban Blue Conference.
