Anthony Wenson, running back, Liberty – The senior had a historic night rushing for 265 yards and scoring six touchdowns in the Blue Jays 49-24 win over Park Hill. The six TDs tied a school record held by Liberty legends David Allen (1994) and Lee Thompson (1996)

Call of the night
Gardner-Edgerton headed to Olathe West winners of its first two games. The Trailblazers ran and threw at will on the Owls on their way to a 36-19 win. Midway through the third quarter Conner Elder found a wide open Austin Buie running down the sideline. Spectrum Sports Kevin Wike was on the call.

Team of the night
Mill Valley – The Jaguars rolled Shawnee Mission Northwest 51-0 to move to 3-0 on the season. Mill Valley has been dominant in its first three games allowing just seven points last week to Shawnee Mission West will scoring 156 points on offense.

Big Winner
St. Pius X – The Warriors edged Maryville 34-27 with a late score to win a game that could decide the Midland Empire Conference title and which team earns the No. 1 seed in the district. This is St. Pius X’s third straight win over Maryville.
