Malik O’Atis, running back, Shawnee Mission Northwest – The junior ran for 139 yards and five TDs on 19 carries to lead the Cougars to a 63-28 win over Olathe West in the second round of the Kansas Class 6A playoffs.

Call of the night
Summit Christian Academy traveled to Center for a Missouri Class 3 district semifinal. The Eagles jumped on the Yellowjackets early led by quarterback Joseph Lepak. The senior threw for a first half TD and then did it all himself for the second score. Joe Van Amburg of MOKS Sports was on the call.

Dineen scramble turns into scoring.

Team of the night
Blue Valley West – The Jaguars rallied from a 21-7 halftime deficit to score 28 points in the second half and earn a 35-28 win over rival Blue Valley. West now moves into the Kansas Class 6A quarterfinals to face Shawnee Mission Northwest.

Big Winner
Fort Osage – The Indians found themselves in a dog fight with Staley in the Class 5 district semifinals. The game was tied at 14 and Fort Osage lined up for a go-ahead field goal in the final seconds. The first attempt was missed but the Falcons were called for roughing the kicker. Sophomore kicker Xander Shepherd made up for the previous miss with a 26-yard kick on the next play that sailed through the uprights as time expired to give the Indians a 17-14 win.
