Quote of the night
““We don’t really talk about the streak. That’s for everybody else to get caught up in. We can’t afford to get caught up in that.” – Odessa Coach Mark Thomas after his team beat Center 42-41 to win its 31st straight game dating back to the start of the 2019 season

Stat line of the night
Henry Martin, quarterback Blue Valley North – The senior and his team fell short to Blue Valley Northwest 35-21 but Martin went 35 of 48 for 409 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions. During the game Martin passed former Shawnee Mission North quarterback Will Schneider for state of Kansas career completion mark of 635.

Call of the night
Spring Hill was off to its best start in more than 30 years but found itself in a dogfight Friday night at Tonganoxie. The Broncos had given up a fourth quarter touchdown to go down 21-14 late in the final frame. Spring Hill got right back in the game on the ensuing kickoff when Carter Meade took a shorter kickoff and took it all the way. Spring Hill Sports Live’s B.J. Harris was on the call
