Quote of the night

“He’s got great vision. He’s got great speed. Then once he gets into the open, he’s hard to bring down. He’s a hard runner. He did a great job and it showed in the second half.” – Tonganoxie coach Al Troyer talking about running back Cooper Cunningham who had 234 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the Chieftains 21-12 win over Piper.

Team of the night

Platte County – The Pirates shutout Smithville who entered the game 5-0 while scoring at least 40 points in every game this season. The win is a big head to head victory and could have a lot to say about district seeding in the postseason.

Big Winner

Lawrence – The Chesty Lions handled a 4-0 Shawnee Mission Northwest 50-21 to move to 5-0 on the season. After finishing 2018 with just one win Lawrence looks like it could be one of the best teams in Kansas 6A this season.
