The 2018 season is right around the corner, so it is time to take a look at schedules for all of the teams in the PrepsKC coverage area.
The next conference we are highlighting is the Missouri River Valley West Conference. The league has been around a long time and many teams surrounding the Metro have been a part of the conference.
The MRVC West has a great history and in the last few years it has produced state champions and finalists along with teams who have won district titles and made deep runs in the postseason.
This year there is again some change as Grain Valley has joined the Suburban Conference. That left one open spot and Warrensburg has moved in to take that spot.
The league’s schedule is pretty simple. The first four weeks are non-conference with the final five games all played against league opponents. The non-conference slate has some great games. Harrisonville opens its season hosting Kearney in a rematch of the 2016 Missouri Class 4 title game won by Harrisonville. The Wildcats might have one of the toughest non-con schedules with games at Maryville and Blue Valley Northwest and a home game with Columbia Battle.
Other good non-conference games are Warrensburg and Sedalia Smith-Cotton, Lawson and Oak Grove, Odessa and St. Pius X, Pleasant Hill and Grandview and Excelsior Springs and St. Joseph Benton.
