Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on PrepsKC.com and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded for all nine weeks of the regular season. At the end of the Kansas regular season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. The Players of the year will each receive a pizza party for their team at the end of the season.

Kansas

Payton Hartman, quarterback Blue Valley Northwest

The Huskies signal caller had a big night leading his team to a 35-28 win over Gardner-Edgerton. Hartman finished 25 of 39 with 340 yards and two TDS in the win.

Missouri

Caleb Krell, Grain Valley, running back

The Eagles tailback had a huge night in Grain Valley’s 27-12 win over Excelsior Springs. Krell had 152 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries.
