The Lions senior running back helped to put the game with Leavenworth early as most of this damage was done in the first half of the 41-14 win.

Call of the night

Olathe North needed a big defensive play to stay alive in their game with Lawrence Free State. Leading 20-17 Free State was looking to run out the clock. There was a fumble and Olathe North’s Victor Simmons picked up the ball and ran it back for the winning TD.

Team of the night

Harmon – The Hawks have had a hard time winning the last few years but all that changed Friday night. They battled and clawed their way to a 30-26 win over Topeka Highland Park that snapped a 31-game losing streak dating back to 2011.

Big Winner

St. Joseph Central – The Indians won their first game of the season which was good but it was the opponent that made it special. Central defeated Blue Springs for the first time in school history 49-31.
