Quote of the night

“We both wear Adidas uniforms, we’ve both got tech fit, just see how they fill theirs out and see how we fill ours out, there’s all you need to know.” St. Pius X Rick Byers said after his team’s 56-7 loss to Maryville.

Team of the night

Truman – The Patriots bounced back from a shutout loss to Lee’s Summit in Week No. 1 to spoil Raytown South’s coming out party at their new stadium with a 25-22 victory. Truman jumped out to a big lead early and then held on as the Cardinals tried to mount a furious comeback. The Patriots earned their first win of the year to move to 1-1 while South fell to 0-2.

Big Winner

Staley – The Falcons moved to 2-0 with another impressive win. Last week Staley opened the year with a 35-0 pasting of Blue Springs. This week the Falcons continued their run through the Suburban Big Six by dominating Raymore-Peculiar 35-10. It’s only two weeks but Staley looks like it could be a state championship contender.
