It’s the final week of the regular season and there are great games on both sides of the state line. Let’s look at this week’s RE/MAX Big 3 Games.

We start on the Missouri side with a game that is the talk of the Kansas City Metro as Lee’s Summit hosts rival Lee’s Summit North. The Broncos are looking to complete their second straight undefeated regular season and will head south to take on the Tigers. North has been consistent most of the season scoring 34 or more points in all but one game. They will need those points because Lee’s Summit has the same number of games over that number including the last four games scoring at least 42 points. This should be an offensive show with bragging rights and a conference title on the line.

The next RE/MAX Big 3 Game in Missouri is in Blue Springs where the Wildcats host Liberty North. The Eagles have the same 5-3 record as Blue Springs and the teams are right next to each other in the district standings. North is coming off a hard-earned 16-13 win over Rockhurst and will look to end the regular season on a 2-game winning streak. The Wildcats are in a different spot trying to bounce back from 30-20 loss to rival Blue Springs South. Blue Springs is having its best year since 2019 which is the last time the Wildcats had a winning regular season. This game has major district seeding implications so expect a game that should go down to the wire.

The final RE/MAX Big 3 Game is Oak Park traveling to Park Hill in a winner takes all contest to determine the top seed in Class 6 District 8. The Northmen need to bounce back after a 36-13 loss to Liberty last week. Oak Park had been riding a three-game winning streak before getting stopped in its tracks. The Trojans are playing their best football of the season winning four straight after opening the season 2-2. Park Hill has wins over Liberty and St. Joseph Central in that stretch. The Trojans defense has been solid the last few weeks holding teams to 17 points or less in three of the four wins in the streak. It’s going to be a great game to decide the No. 1 seed.

Let’s jump over the state line and look at the Kansas RE/MAX Big 3 Games for the final week of the regular season. We start at Mill Valley where the Jaguars host Olathe East. The Hawks are coming off its biggest win of the year beating Shawnee Mission East 35-28 in four overtimes. East is looking to lock down a good seed for the Kansas 6A east bracket and a win over the Jaguars would be huge for the Hawks. Mill Valley is in a similar position in the 5A East bracket. A loss could push them down several seeds, but a victory could move the Jaguars up into a better spot. Both teams want to run the ball and play tough defense so this could be a knock-down drag out battle.

The next Kansas RE/MAX is a battle for the Frontier League title as Louisburg hosts Spring Hill. These two have been the best teams in the league the last few seasons and for the second straight year they meet with the title on the line. Spring Hill has just one loss to Ottawa and the Broncos are playing their best football of the season defeating Paola and Emporia the last two weeks by a combined 91-14 margin. Louisburg comes to the table after its toughest contest of the season. The Wildcats held off Ottawa 17-7 become the first team to hold Louisburg under 42 points since Clay Center in week No. 3. This should be a hard-fought game that could be decided in the fourth quarter.

The final RE/MAX Big 3 game is St. James Academy at Blue Valley West. St. James is coming off its best win of the year as the Thunder went down to Wichita and beat Kapaun Mt. Carmel 30-10. St. James is a dynamic team and will tested by a Blue Valley West that is one of the best teams in the Metro and is coming off the biggest win of the season 35-34 over rival Blue Valley. The Jaguars have the look of a team that could go far in Class 6A but they will be tested by a 5A team that also has designs on a long playoff run.
