Ty Kohl’s run against his former team is over.

After defeating the Blue Springs South Jaguars – the team he formerly coached – twice since he has taken the reign of Lee’s Summit North football, the streak came to an end Friday night.

The Jaguars came out with a purpose, scoring on six of eight possessions in the first half and running back a punt 72 yards for a 49-0 drubbing of the Broncos at North.

After back-to-back wins over South in 2009 and 2010, the Jaguar talent and offense was smothering Friday.

The Broncos looked to threaten early, mounting a nine-play drive well past midfield before quarterback Will Harrington was intercepted by Owen McGraw – one of two interceptions on the day for Harrington.

Six of the next seven drives ended in punts for North.

Late in the second quarter, the Broncos drove past midfield as Harrington hit Trevor Mountain with a 28-yard bomb, but the drive fizzled minutes later.

The North defense forced the Jaguars to punt with less than four minutes left in the first half, but fumbled the ball away and Trey Ervin recovered the loose football.

The 1-5 Broncos hit the road Oct. 7 to Blue Springs.
