Blue Springs is rude homecoming guest
By John Beaudoin Lee's Summit Journal Publisher
The visiting Wildcats didn’t make Homecoming much fun on the football field Friday night.
In fact, their 42-7 drubbing of the Lee’s Summit Tigers was about as easy as 1-2-3.
That’s running backs No. 1 Dalvin Warmack, No. 2 Erron Holley and No. 3 Marcus Brown – all of whom scored the first three touchdowns for Blue Springs before most people could get their seats warm and polish off some popcorn.
By halftime it was 35-0 and the Tigers, 3-2 now on the season, had to suffer through a lightning-quick second half – the victim of a 35-point lead-mandated running clock.
The silver lining came late in the game when the Tigers pounced on a fumbled Wildcat carry on the 15-yard line – the best field position they had all night – and lit up the scoreboard three plays later.
