Led by senior quarterback Paul Heit's four touchdowns, Saint Thomas Aquinas ran and ran to a 44-14 win over Blue Valley North Thursday at Switzer DAC.

The Saints (3-0, 2-0) went on a 34-0 run midway through the game before putting in reserves late in the third quarter against the Mustangs (0-3, 0-3).

The Saints used a balanced running attack with Heit, senior running back Luke Martinez and junior running back Nick Williams piling up 177 yards and five touchdowns on just 19 carries in three quarters.

Williams scored a rushing touchdown in the third quarter, but it was his 92-yard kickoff return midway through the first quarter that sparked the 34-0 run. He also returned a kickoff for six in the season opener.

The Saints secondary continued their thieving ways with three interceptions. The Saints have eight picks, with four coming from senior Dillon Moran.

Moran also had a fumble recovery, two tackles for a loss and seven solo tackles to lead a defense that kept the Mustangs scoreless for the final 41 minutes of the game. The Mustangs second touchdown was a 49-yard fumble recovery by senior Devin Warren.

Senior running back Zach Love led the Mustang offense with 79 yards and a touchdown. Junior Jovante Siglar had seven catches for 72 yards.

The Saints will host Blue Valley Northwest next Friday for Homecoming. The Mustangs will stay at Switzer DAC to play Blue Valley West.
