New coach Jimmy Tucker and his Grain Valley Eagles have their first victory of the season.

The Eagles rallied for two fourth-quarter touchdowns for a 29-25 victory over host Cameron Friday night.

Jeremy Mayard passed 18 yards to Dylan Farrell and Tucker Pauley passed to Landon Hedrick for a two-point conversion to bring the Eagles to within 25-22.

Then, with 1:29 remaining, Pauley scored the winning touchdown on 1-yard run and Alex Velasquez kicked his third extra point.

“I was really proud of the kids,” Tucker said. “The defense stepped up and held them to seven points in the second half. I challenged them at halftime. The quarterback and wide receivers made plays down the stretch.”
