All is right again in Harrisonville. The Wildcats rebound from a heartbreaking 16-12 loss to Jefferson City Helias with a 20-0 thumping of Hazelwood West out of St. Louis. Harrisonville did it with what has become a trademark in the Coach Chuck Lliteras era; a superb defense and a ball control offense.
The Wildcats opened the game forcing a three and out and getting the ball to their offense who promptly drove deep in Hazelwood territory before turning it over at the 5-yard line on a fumble.
As the defense continued to dominate the Hazelwood running attack, the Harrisonville offense continued to find its groove led by Senior running back John Fuller and Sophomore quarterback Zach Davidson. The Cats finally found the end zone halfway thru the second quarter on a 2 yard run by John Fuller on 4th and Goal. Harrisonville’s defense then thwarted a last second drive by Hazelwood West to go into the locker room up 7-0.
After the break the Wildcats came out with a big drive keyed by a 33 yard John Fuller run before an interception deep in Hazelwood territory. The Harrisonville defense answered the call though with a 30 yard pick 6 by safety Walter Eastwood.
This put the Cats up 14-0 and in the driver’s seat. As the Wildcat defense continued to dominate the line of scrimmage the offense resorted to some trickery for their last score. A 40-yard halfback pass from Brett Beardon to WR Ben Sevy sealed the deal and made it 20-0

Though only the second game of the year Harrisonville looked much improved from a Week 1 loss to Helias. With a tough non-conference schedule the Wildcats look to continue to improve come conference and district time with a young QB and host of new starters.
