After two trips to the Missouri Class 6 title game Blue Springs should be expected to take a step back. While it wasn’t a dominant season the Wildcats find themselves back in the Class 6A semifinals after a 29-20 win over Columbia Rock Bridge in the Class 6 District 2 title game.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on the on the strength of a flea flicker pass from quarterback Coby Mansfield to receiver Cooper Willich early in the first quarter.

The Wildcats would extend their lead to 15-0 on a 1-yard run by Aveion Bailey and a botched extra-point ran in by Willich.

Rock Bridge would pull to within 15-13 and 22-200 but a late drive by the Wildcats would push the margin to 29-27 and Blue Springs would take the win and advance to play at Rockhurst Saturday at 1 p.m. for the spot in the Class 6A title game.
