Get ready for the Battle of Buchanans Part II.

Mid-Buchanan defeated Plattsburg 41-12 to knock the Tigers from the postseason Friday at Mid-Buchanan High School and now advances to the second round of districts.

Waiting for the Dragons is No. 2 seed East Buchanan, who squeaked by No. 7 West Platte on Friday 34-27.

The Dragons, who entered Friday’s contest as the third seed, scored before the offense could even step onto the field.

Travis Runyan took the opening kickoff 80 yards to put the Dragons up 7-0.

Plattsburg’s Gannon Steggall connected with Deron Burnside on a 10-yard pass before Mid-Buch’s Javan Noyes had a 29-yard run.

That gave the Dragons (6-4) a 14-6 lead after the first quarter. A game would stay that way until halftime but eventually would blow open in the second half.

Noyes’ second score was good from 1 yard out to give his team a 21-6 lead, but Steggall sprinted 98 yards to cut into the lead.

The big play happened with 20 seconds left in the third quarter and made it 21-12. But the fourth was all Mid-Buchanan as the Tigers (2-8) fell back.
