Other highlights from around the area from the final week of the regular season in Kansas:

Mill Valley 56, Blue Valley Southwest 7
Three Cameron Young touchdown runs and a pair of Jordan Preston-to-Jayce Zukowski scoring passes provided the host Jaguars more than enough as Mill Valley (6-3, 5-3 Eastern Kansas League) jumped out to a 35-0 second quarter lead and never looked back.

Young rushed for 143 yards and added a fourth touchdown in the first minute after halftime while Preston passed for 222 yards in the rout for the No. 5 team in Class 5A.

Blue Valley Southwest (3-6, 2-6 EKL) was stifled by the Mill Valley defense. The Timberwolves mustered just 141 yards of offense (including 25 yards rushing on 24 carries), punted eight times and threw four interceptions.

Olathe East 41, Olathe South 26
East leveraged sizeable time-of-possession and total play advantages to outlast their rivals and comeback from a 16-6 third-quarter deficit.

Hunter Thomas’ 2-yard touchdown run with 42 seconds left in the third gave the Hawks (3-5, 3-4 Sunflower League) their first lead, 20-16.

That came between Thomas’ scoring passes to Ray Lewis -- first a 29-yarder with 4:12 left in the third to make it 16-13, then a 6-yarder to extend Olathe East’s lead to 11 points 47 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Reed Smith had three long touchdown completions and 274 yards passing for Olathe South (4-4, 4-3 Sunflower League).

Basehor-Linwood 37, Schlagle 18
Quarterback Dylan Mussett had a pair of touchdown passes and Nolan Ford added two more on the ground as the host Bobcats were victorious in an out of conference matchup to close the season.

Mussett finished with 288 yards passing despite two interceptions -- one of which was returned for touchdown by Kendall Brewer -- as Basehor-Linwood will enter the playoffs 7-1.

Schlagle, 5-3 and winner of the Kansas City Atchison League, also got a touchdown run and a pass to Brewer from quarterback Joshua Becton.

Shawnee Mission North 56, Leavenworth 13
Billy Conaway has touchdowns rushing, receiving and from a kick return to lead the Indians (4-4) as they scored 56 straight points in their rout of the host Pioneers (1-7).

De’Aric Quinn also scored three times, on rushes of 5, 3 and 50 yards.

Robert McKinley had two passing touchdowns to Drake Allen in the second half to finally get Leavenworth on the board.

Blue Valley North 61, St. James Academy 28
Wisconsin commit Graham Mertz continued his stellar senior season with 430 yards passing and six touchdowns to lead the host Mustangs (6-3, 6-2 Eastern Kansas League).

Mertz connected three times each with Amauri Pesek-Hickson (nine catches, 121 yards) and Cameron Burt (15 receptions for 178 yards).

Brady Feldman passed for two touchdowns while J.J. Tylicki passed for one and caught another and accounted for 117 yards of offense for the Thunder (1-7, 1-6 EKL)
