The Sports Medicine and Performance Center at the University of Kansas Health System is the official partner of both the Royals and Chiefs. They treat the pros but they also treat high school and middle school athletes in several school districts across the Metro.

This summer there was a clinic with high school and middle school coaches featuring University of Kansas Health System’s and Chiefs head team physician Dr. J. Paul Schroeppel, Chiefs VP of Sports Medicine and Performance Rick Burkholder, strength coach Barry Rubin, Equipment Manager Allen Wright, as well as Jeff Miller from the NFL, who is senior VP of Health and Safety.

Here is a video about that clinic.

Burkholder also has a video that details the importance of high school athletes utilizing an athletic trainer.

If you are interested in more tips from Burkholder here is a list of additional videos.
