Blue Valley 49, Blue Valley Northwest 13
Blue Valley quarterback Walker Kinney helped lead his team in a rout of EKL rival Blue Valley Northwest 49-7 Friday night, throwing for 340 yards and four touchdowns. He did well spreading the ball around, hitting Cameron Green twice, John Jeffries and Beau Palmer for scores.

They did it on the ground as well with Palmer scoring two more times and Brandon Freeman once more. Northwest's lone score came early in the fourth quarter when Mike Pauley connected with Jake Doleshf for 10 yards.

With the win, Blue Valley improved to 3-2 on the season and 3-1 in the league. Northwest fell to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the EKL. The Tigers will host Bishop Miege next week while the Huskies take on Blue Valley West.

Blue Valley North 41, Mill Valley 15
Mill Valley was able to keep it close in their EKL battle with Blue Valley North for a quarter, but the Mustangs used three second-quarter touchdowns to overpower the Jaguars and go on to win 41-15.

North quarterback Graham Mertz tossed four touchdowns in his first game in two weeks, two to Cameron Burt, and one each to Amauri Pesek-HIckson and Ammon Thutmosei. The Mustang defense came up big as well, picking up four turnovers.

Mill Valley scored its first touchdown on a fumble recovered in the end zone by Carson Caldwell in the first quarter, and then in the third quarter a 50-yard run by Cameron Young who finished the night with 139 yards on the ground.

North improved its record to 2-3 and evened its conference record to 2-2. Mill Valley fell to 2-3 both overall and in the conference.

Shawnee Heights 30, Washington 14
Four rushing touchdowns from tailback Tyce Brown were all Shawnee Heights needed to do in Washington Friday night 30-14. Brown ran the ball 58 times for 276 yards and accounted for the majority of the Thunderbirds offense. He even had four catches for 70 yards.

The Wildcats (2-3) scored two second-half touchdowns on Alex Howard and Michael Holliday runs, but by then, it was too late.

Shawnee Heights improved to 3-2 on the season while Washington falls to 2-3.

Blue Valley Southwest 31, St. James Academy 19
Blue Valley Southwest picked up its third win of the season with a 31-19 victory over St. James Academy Friday night in a game that was nip and tuck until the very end. Southwest led 7-6 after one quarter and 14-12 at the half.

Early in the fourth quarter, St. James (1-4) Jack Moellers to William Sharpton 16-yard pass to cut the lead to 21-19, but Southwest (3-2) pulled away midway through the fourth quarter when Billy Bartlett caught a 31-yard touchdown pass to increase the Timberwolves lead to 28-19.

Dominick Stadlman added a 39-yard field goal for Southwest with 19 seconds left to play in the game.

St. James takes on a tough St. Thomas Aquinas team next week while Blue Valley Southwest does battle with Blue Valley North.
