The Lansing Lions played strong, but mental errors killed drives in their 34-7 loss to De Soto.

The Wildcats struck first on their opening drive to take a 7-0 lead less than three minutes in the game.

The Lions answered with a strong drive following the Wildcats touchdown, but Lansing could not convert on fourth down turning the ball over.

Another touchdown midway through the second quarter extended the lead to 14.

A costly fumble by Lansing gave the Wildcats excellent field position and De Soto scored on the following play to go up 21-0 right before halftime.

The Lions scored in the third quarter to make it 21-7, but another Wildcats touchdown made the score 28-7 at the end of the third quarter.

Lansing played well at times, but fumbles, penalties and not capitalizing on De Soto turnovers kept the Lions from getting into a rhythm for much of the game.
