The University of Kansas Health System Sports Medicine and Performance Center leads the way in helping athletes of all kinds recover from injury, lead a healthy lifestyle and prevent injuries before they happen.

It has just opened a new Performance Center at 125th and Antioch in Overland Park, Kan. That center is partnering with the Sharp Performance Centers to become the leading center for everyone from elite athletes to young athletes who are just starting out.

Leading the performance center is Jake Sharp. Sharp is a high school legend in Kansas that played football at the University of Kansas and was a key member of the 2007 Orange Bowl Champions. Since his football career ended Sharp has moved into the area of training athletes and operates centers in his home town of Salina, Kan. along one in Wichita.

The newest center is the University of Kansas Health System location in Overland Park. We sat down Sharp to talk about his role with the Sports Medicine and Performance Center and what this partnership means for athletes in the Kansas City Metro and surrounding areas.
