Tiger, Wildcat earn Player of the Week honors

Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on PrepsKC.com and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded for all nine weeks of the regular season. At the end of the Kansas regular season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. The Players of the year will each receive a pizza party for their team at the end of the season.

Below is this week’s Papa John’s Player of the Week

Kansas

Alex Totta, Blue Valley, Linebacker/running back

The junior had a big night on both sides of the ball rushing for 108 yards and two TDs on offense while racking up a team-high 13 tackles on defense as Blue Valley beat Olathe North 48-21 in the Kansas Class 6A quarterfinals.

Missouri

Aveion Bailey, Blue Springs, running back

Bailey helped lead Blue Springs back to the Missouri Class 6 state championship game with 20 carries and 159 yards in the Wildcats 34-14 win over Park Hill.
