Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on PrepsKC.com and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded for all nine weeks of the regular season. At the end of the Kansas regular season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. The Players of the year will each receive a pizza party for their team at the end of the season.

Below is this week’s Papa John’s Player of the Week

Kansas
Daymonn Sanchez, running back, Olathe North

The junior had a huge night as the Eagles beat Lawrence 35-14 in the second round of the Kansas Class 6A playoffs. Sanchez finished with 312 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries.

Missouri
Wyatt Reynolds, running back, Harrisonville

Reynolds was a workhorse for the Wildcats carrying the ball 23 times for 157 yards and one TD in Harrisonville’s 24-21 district championship win at Grain Valley.
