This season, the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers were equipped with Riddell’s InSite Impact Response System through a partnership between PrepsKC, McCarthy Auto Group and Riddell.

The Riddell InSite Impact Response System is a helmet-based impact monitoring technology designed to alert coaches and trainers when significant single or multiple impacts are sustained during a football game or practice.

Charlie McFail, Head Football Coach of the Tigers, noticed several benefits from using InSite this season.

“With the use of Riddell InSite technology we could track the amount of hits our football players were taking during practice and games,” McFail said.  “With that data we were able to adjust practice schedules to minimize the amount of contact they were getting daily.”

Additionally, the coaching staff could give extra attention to certain players because of the information that InSite provided the staff.

“The InSite technology also highlighted a couple of players that were having alerts in the same area and we were able to address how they were blocking and tackling,” McFail said.

McFail believes that InSite was a great addition to his program and would be to other programs as well.

“InSite technology is a great coaching tool that can be used to better inform coaches and player protection,” McFail said.
