The No. 1-ranked Staley Falcons shut out Central 60-0 to move on to the district championship on Friday at the North Kansas City District Athletic Complex. Central ends its season 4-7.

Staley never looked back after the opening score and cruised to the big win. The Falcons scored all of their points in the first three quarters.

At the end of the first quarter the Falcons led 19-0. At halftime, they took a 46-0 lead. And after three, the backups were in.

For Central, it could have put itself in a position to avoid one of the best teams in Missouri had a couple games gone its way. The No. 4 seed in district 8 beat Oak Park last week in the opening-round game. Central lost to St. Joseph rival Lafayette, Park Hill South and North Kansas City by a combined seven points this year.

Staley continues its 10-0 season next week against Liberty, which beat Liberty North 22-20 on Friday.

Central will return sophomore quarterback Max Conard, junior running back Hunter Madison and junior wide receiver Landon Pasley on next year’s offense.
