A really tough loss and some tough districts

Give these kids some credit And it did. Greenfield defeated Northwest 102-0. The 8-man team reportedly only had nine players suited up against a much bigger Greenfield team with 28 players. Of course the story doesn’t end there. The Joplin Globe has more including reaction from an unhappy coach. It was the biggest margin of victory in 8-man Missouri history. Lincoln Prep holds the overall state record of 138-0 against Northeast in 1985. What’s the toughest district out there The regular season is winding down, meaning teams are starting to pay much closer attention to the district standings. It’s worth looking at a couple districts around the state that based on the point totals are the best out there. Locally, Class 4 District 8 is one of the best districts in the state with Platte County, Kearney, Smithville, Excelsior Springs and Lafayette County each registering over 43 district points thus far. Looking across Missouri, there may not be another district as good as that, though Class 4 District 5 is close with five teams also over 40 points. That district includes Webb City, Carl Junction, West Plains, Camdenton and Springfield Hillcrest.
Game of the week The two teams are a combined 14-0 and are fighting for the top spot in Class 2 District 8.
