Bishop Miege senior quarterback Carter Putz added three touchdown passes to his Kansas career record and scored another touchdown on the ground as the No. 1-ranked Stags in Class 4A-I rolled to a 51-7 win over Blue Valley West on Thursday night at the Blue Valley District Activity Complex.

Putz, committed to play baseball at Notre Dame next year, now has 96 career touchdown passes. He threw two touchdowns to Peyton Hamrick and an 11-yard scoring pass to Cameron Clark, who also had a 24-yard touchdown run.

Brison Cobbins scored two touchdowns on runs of 22 and 16 yards as the 5-0 Stags took a 37-0 lead into halftime. Putz’s 13-yard run put Bishop Miege up 44-0 early in the third quarter. The Stags moved ahead 51-0 later in the third before Blue Valley West scored its lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Bishop Miege plays at Mill Valley on Oct. 6 while the Jaguars will face Blue Valley North, which defeated Gardner-Edgerton 34-12 on Thursday. The Mustangs, who improved to 2-3, led the Trailblazers 21-6 at halftime and 28-6 after three quarters.
