Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on PrepsKC.com and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded for all nine weeks of the regular season. At the end of the Kansas regular season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. The Players of the year will each receive a pizza party for their team at the end of the season.

Below is this week’s Papa John’s Player of the Week

Kansas

Bryce Mohl, quarterback, DeSoto

The senior had 200 combined yards leading the Wildcats to a 40-14 win over Paola. DeSoto is now 4-0 on the season.

Missouri

Azaiah Bello, defensive back, Blue Springa

Bello picked off a pass and returned 90 yards for a touchdown in the Wildcats 21-14 win over rival Rockhurst in a big Missouri Class 6 showdown.
