Raytown, BV North QB's earn top honors

Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on PrepsKC.com and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded for all nine weeks of the regular season. At the end of the Kansas regular season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. The Players of the year will each receive a pizza party for their team at the end of the season.

Below is this week’s Papa John’s Player of the Week


Graham Mertz, Blue Valley North junior quarterback

The Junior threw for 271 yards and six touchdowns in the Mustangs 48-13 win over Blue Valley Northwest.


Joe Campbell, Raytown sophomore quarterback

Raytown sophomore quarterback Joe Campbell orchestrated a masterpiece through the air, going 22/37 for 432 yards and seven total touchdowns, to roll past fellow unbeaten Grain Valley 49-14 in Raytown.
