Monday night at Rockhurst High School the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association held its annual College Night. This has long been a chance for college coaches one-stop shopping to talk to coaches and find out about the rising seniors who will take the field this fall.

It is always well attended with coaches from FCS, D-II, D-III, NAIA and junior colleges all packed into the gym at Rockhurst wanting to talk to the GKCFCA members.

Colleges from North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee attended our event. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of scholarships will be provided for our student athletes from the colleges that attend every year knowing that the Kansas City area is a great place for their staffs to recruit.

GKCFCA President Sam Knopik said this event again continues to grow and improve.

“This year seemed like the best one in memory due to the large high school participation numbers,” Knopik said. “It is well received by the coaches in attendance from all the various levels of schools and coaches looking to tap into the Kansas City market.”
