The Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association has announced that its February clinic scheduled for Wednesday evening has been canceled.

The decision was made in light of Blue Valley Head Coach Eric Driskell who battling for his life after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm Sunday night at the association’s board meeting.

Members were notified by email today by GKCFCA President Sam Knopik.

Below is the full text of his statement to the association.

As many of you have heard, Coach Eric Driskell suffered a brain aneurysm while participating at our board meeting on Sunday night. He is currently in critical condition and his wife Kari has requested prayers.

His impact on others is readily apparent and I encourage all of you to reflect on Eric's role in your life and the impact you are making in your own community and home. As an association we believe that events in the immediate need to focus on the Driskell and Blue Valley families and we have postponed our regularly scheduled clinic on Wednesday night. As we know of developments we will share with the membership appropriately.
