Strong playoff performances honored

Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded all season long. At the end of the season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. Each winner’s program will receive a $250 donation from Papa John’s and a pizza party for the entire team.

Below are this week’s Papa John’s Players of the Week

Justin Phillips, Basehor-Linwood quarterback

Phillips led the Bobcats to a route of Ottawa throwing for 264 yards and two touchdowns.


Morgan Selemaea, running back, Harrisonville

The senior ran for 111 yards and one touchdown and had seven tackles on defense as Harrisonville knocked off Missouri state power Webb City for the first time in school history.
