Another year, another semifinal game for Kearney.

For the third straight year the Bulldogs are just one win away from a return trip to the Edward Jones Dome. Kearney moved on after a 35-7 win at Hannibal Saturday.

There wasn’t much drama for the Bulldogs. They scored touchdowns in each of the first three quarters while holding the Pirates scoreless in the same span. Kearney would eventually make it 35-0 before Hannibal crossed the goal line with just 20 seconds left in the game.

The defense led the way making Hannibal grind for every yard it got. The Pirates actually ran four more plays than the Bulldogs but were outgained 398-265.

Kearney did most of its damage on the ground rushing for 340 yards led by Marcus Harris’ 157 yards. Harris scored one touchdown among his 22 attempts. Quarterback Logan Hink added 128 yards and a score while Cale Garret ran for two more TDs. The final score of the game was turned in by Zackary Riley who scampered 21 yards for the touchdown on his only carry of the game.

The win moves the Bulldogs into a matchup up with Westminster Christian from St. Louis. That game will be at Westminster either Friday or Saturday.
