Welcome to Five From Friday our new Saturday feature that highlights some of the best quotes, notes, stats and performances of the games Friday night. Each Saturday evening PrepsKC will post a Five From Friday looking back on the night that was.

Quote of the night

“I think (Cameron Hairston) is the best receiver in the state of Missouri. We don’t have any doubt that he’s going to catch the ball. If he can get any space and I can lay it up there for him, he’s going to catch it, he’s going to come down with it and he’s going to score.” – Lee’s Summit North quarterback Nate Webb after Hairston’s big night in the Broncos’ 20-14 double overtime win against Raymore-Peculiar

Stat line of the night

AJ Taylor, running back, Rockhurst – 30 carries, 321 yards, 3 TDs

Rockhurst's tailback carried the load in his team's 39-21 win over rival Blue Springs. Taylor finished with 321 yards and three TDs in the win.

Call of the night

Connor Byers did everything in Bonner Springs’ 35-28 win over Lansing. He finished with 197 yards and three TDs passing while racking up 258 yards and two touchdowns rushing the ball. His final long run of the night sealed the deal for the Braves.

Connor Byers fifth touchdown of the night – 810 Varsity

Team of the night

St. Pius X – The Warriors had struggled through the first five weeks of the season but they went to Warrensburg and brought home a 35-31 win over the Tigers. This week they host rival O’Hara

Big Winner

Olathe Northwest – The Ravens beat Olathe South 34-0. While it was an impressive win all by itself it was also the first time Northwest had beaten South. The streak dates back to 2004.
