Mid Buchanan, North Platte earn wins

Mid-Buchanan 42, Maysville 16
Stetson Brant accounted for 4 TDs to help the Dragons pick up their second victory of the season after going winless last year.
The Dragons rolled out to a 21-0 lead behind a trio of touchdown passes from Bradyn Kemper — two going to Brant for 73 and 55 yards. Kemper also hit Riley Brill for a 17-yard scoring strike.
After Maysville (0-2) scored its first touchdown on Troy Powers’ 48-yard run in the second quarter, Brant returned the kickoff 83 yards for a score seconds later.
Kemper and Brant each ran for touchdowns in the second half to ice the win. Kemper passed for 279 yards and Brant had 141 yards receiving on seven catches.
Harrisonville 34, Savannah 6
Facing the No. 7-ranked team in Class 4, Savannah went ahead early but couldn’t keep pace.
The Savages went up 6-0 in the first quarter on Taylor Gilbert’s 1-yard TD run.
Harrisonville (2-0) scored 24 straight point in the second quarter to take control.
Ben Styron booted a pair of field goals and Chance Chamberlain passed for a TD and ran for another for the Wildcats.
North Platte 14, University Academy 6
Jordan Hendricks scored a pair of touchdowns to help North Platte improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Hendricks hauled in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Hernandez in the first quarter and his 4-yard TD run in the fourth quarter provided to the difference in the outcome.
Hendricks ran for 147 yards for the Panthers (2-0)
