Oak Grove wins, BS South falls

Blue Springs South was down 13-0 but driving in the second quarter. But Francis Howell picked off a pass and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown. The Jaguars never recovered in a 41-7 loss to the Vikings in the Class 6 District 3 semifinals Friday night at Francis Howell.
South answered that pick-six with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Noah Nigro to Jake Lamb in the second quarter to make it 20-7.
But the Jaguars couldn’t find the end zone again and finished 5-6.
The Vikings picked off Nigro four times as he finished 12 of 32 for 155 yards and the one touchdown. Adam Cofield totaled 52 yards rushing on 10 attempts.
OAK GROVE 47, HOGAN PREP 46: Scott Jones booted a 45-yard field goal late to lift Oak Grove past Hogan Prep and into the Class 3 District 7 championship game next Friday.
The Panthers (9-2) will meet top-seeded O’Hara in the championship. O’Hara handed Oak Grove one of its two losses, a 31-24 setback in the second week of the regualar season. O’Hara (10-1) advanced to the final with a 38-7 victory over Odessa.
The winner of next week’s game will face top-ranked Maryville or St. Pius X.
