With all the hype from the students, family, friends, and community the game between Raymore-Peculiar and the Lee’s Summit West was one to watch.

Both teams came out slow offensively on their first series due to great defensive stops. The Titans showed off their much improved team speed on both sides of the ball.

“That Titan speed is back, we’re back!” Defensive Coordinator, Vinnie Careswell said.

The Panthers seemed tired and worn out by the end of the first quarter with the score being 14-6 with two Titan rushing touchdowns and one passing Panther touchdown with a blocked PAT.

With the start of the second quarter the Titans took off with the worn out Panthers running the ball play after play. The Panther offense was having trouble spreading the ball around to get people involved to create plays quarterback Carmon Coffman had to take the team on his back as he ran with sixteen carries for thirty-eight yards. At the end of the second quarter with time winding down LSW quarterback Luke Knott made a heads up play with a great second effort for a one yard touchdown run to take the game into halftime with the score 21-6.

In the second-half Ray-Pec came out with a bang with an astonishing seventy-yard touchdown pass by Coffman. After that the game became an intense clock watching one for both sides. With the third quarter coming to an end the score was 21-13 West.

The fourth quarter was by far the most intense, pressure filled experience. With both teams trying to put points up on the board to either make the game closer or close it out.

In the middle of the fourth quarterback Luke Knott for Lee’s Summit West put the Titan defense in pressure hole by throwing an interception late. The defense stood strong and kept the Panthers scoreless in the fourth quarter to end the game with the Titans on top 21-13.

“We lost to a good football team; But, I was pleased with our effort out on the field tonight,”” Ray-Pec Head Coach, Tom Kruse said.
