For a quarter, the Immaculata football team hung with 8-1 McLouth.

After giving up the game’s first touchdown, the Raiders answered right back when quarterback Drew Sachen raced nine yards for a score.

The TD made it 6-6. Yet that’s when it all unraveled.

“On our second drive, we were on their seven and we gave up a sack,” Imac coach Sean Sachen said. “Then we had a penalty and before you know it, it was fourth and goal from 20 yards out. We moved the ball around pretty well in the first quarter, but that was it.”

The Bulldogs recorded 42 unanswered points and beat Immaculata 48-6.

“They are awfully skilled,” Sachen said. “They have speed everywhere. You start shooting yourself in the foot against them and they make you pay. They are too good to do that against and expect to win.”

Following the equalizer, McLouth put up eight points to hold a 14-6 lead after one period of play.
It was then in the second quarter where the home team blew open the game. The Bulldogs rallied off 28 points and at half led 42-6.

A third quarter TD capped off the 42-point win.

“We were worried about their speed,” the Imac coach said. “They are fast everywhere. We had some young guys playing and asked them to be physical, to do their assignments and finish their jobs. When things aren’t going so well, that is usually why.”
