Penney, Smithville, Lawson all win big

Derrick Hughes ran for touchdowns of 22 and 6 yards, while Devan Hughes had scoring runs of 60 and 18 yards for Hamilton (8-0, 8-0 KCI).

Kellen Overstreet led all Hamilton rushers with 115 yards and added a touchdown run.

Levi Hill passed for 112 yards and added 57 rushing yards and a score on the ground for the Panthers (3-5, 2-4 KCI).

Smithville 43, Chillicothe 6

The Warriors handed the Hornets their fifth straight loss by rattling off 43 unanswered points.

Quarterback Cory Marmet and running back Zach Parmenter both eclisped the 100-yard rushing mark for Smithville (5-3, 3-3 MEC) in the victory. Marmet dashed for a game-high 142 yards and a score and added a 27-yard touchdown pass to Drew Boydston in the three-score second quarter.

Parmenter ran for a 9-yard touchdown and 117 yards. He broke Gabe Middleton’s school career rushing record on a 28-yard gain in the third quarter.

Parker Belaue ran for three second-half touchdowns for the Warriors.

Chillicothe (1-7, 1-5) took its lead in the first quarter on Tyler Clampitt’s 14-yard strike to Eric Rutledge.
