A strong rushing attack propelled Harrisonville to a 34-0 Missouri River Valley Conference West victory over Grain Valley Friday night.

The Wildcats gained 252 rushing yards on 29 carries in the victory. The defense held the Eagles to only 18 yards on 23 attempts.

Grain Valley, though, did pass for 208 yards.

Harrisonville, which has never lost to Grain Valley in five meetings, scored 20 points in the second quarter for a 27-0 halftime lead.

“In the second half we played better,” Grain Valley coach Jimmy Tucker said. “Offensively, we continue to struggle. We have to finish drives. We are trying to figure out who we are. Our starting center was injured. That hurt us.”

Grain Valley (2-4, 0-2) was led offensively by Dominick Macoubrie’s 18 of 36 passing for 208 yards.

Caleb Colton ran 4 yards and Wyatt Schenker 2 yards for the first two touchdowns for Harrisonville (5-1, 2-0). Zach Davidson scored on a 4-yard plunge and passed 12 yards to Tanner Floerschler. Floerschler scored the final Harrisonville touchdown on a 13-yard run.
